Approved to honour the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as a “Pillar of Peace and Economic Stability,” the 24–karat coin is celebrating a royal legacy, driving national development, and gaining unprecedented international recognition.The BoG authorised the coin primarily to recognise Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his extraordinary peacebuilding efforts, most notably resolving the 17-year Dagbon chieftaincy conflict. The central bank granted authorisation to E ON 3 Group to mint and issue the commemorative coin and offered to assist in procuring the coin through appropriate channels.
